IAC MISSION STATEMENT
Ident-A-Child is a non-profit organization which provides parents with educational resources and information to aid in the awareness and prevention of abuse or abduction of children.
Ident-A-Child provides parents with free Child ID kits for the collection of unique personal identification information which can be used by law enforcement to aid in the recovery of lost or abducted children.
The Ident-A-Child Board also believes it should use it’s organizational skills to help the local community with other charitable events.
IAC HISTORY
Ident-A-Child was started by Mary Jennings as a project for a Chico State class.
The first Board of Directors was form and filed with the State of California as a non-profit corporation on February 27th 1987
Ellen and Earl Cornet expanded Ident-A-Child’s reach to all over Northern California regions serving and identifying over 100,000 children of all ages. Originally they videotaped and finger printed children. IAC, Local Police and Media had a connection in the event that that a child was abducted his/her video could be broadcasted immediately by the local media.
With the creation of Amber alert IAC has evolved to fill other needs as suggested by Local Law Enforcement. Our current goals are reflected in our Mission Statement.
